✦ Privacy Policy
Effective June 2026 · The Scripture Companion LLC
Scripture Companion exists for your most honest moments with God. We treat what you share accordingly. This policy describes exactly what we collect, why, and who processes it. The short version: no ads, no selling your data, ever — and you can delete everything, immediately, from inside the app.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address and name when you create an account — with email and password, or with Sign in with Apple (which may share a private relay email at your choice).
- Profile & personalization answers. What you choose to tell us — your season of life, family and relationships, faith story, the battles you’re fighting, people you’re praying for, goals, devotional preferences, and anything you write in the free-text fields. Every personalization question is optional.
- Journal entries, check-ins, and moods. Your morning and evening check-ins, journal reflections, mood history, and emergency check-ins.
- Prayers and shared content. Prayer requests, written prayers, encouragements, community posts, and group devotional reflections. These are visible to the audiences you choose — your friends circle, a group plan, or the public congregation wall — and to no one else.
- Usage basics. Streaks, saved verses, reading progress, and subscription status.
How your data is processed
We use a small number of service providers, each only for what’s named here:
- Supabase — secure data storage and account authentication.
- Anthropic — AI generation. Your profile, check-ins, journal entries, moods, and content you share (like prayer requests and encouragement details) are sent to Anthropic’s servers to create your personalized devotionals, prayers, and answers.
- Google Cloud — text-to-speech, to turn devotionals, sermons, and Bible chapters into audio.
- RevenueCat and Apple — subscription management and billing. We never see your payment details; Apple handles all payment processing.
No advertising networks. No analytics brokers. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone, and we never will.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time inside the app (Profile → Legal → Delete My Account). Deletion is immediate: your account, devotionals, journal entries, prayers, saved verses, streaks, and personal data are permanently removed. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke your Sign in with Apple tokens as part of deletion.
Your community content
Content you shared with others (for example, a prayer someone received from you) is removed along with your account. Reports of objectionable content are reviewed within 24 hours; you can report content and block users anywhere in the app.
Children
Scripture Companion is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes & contact
If this policy changes meaningfully, we’ll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Questions, concerns, or requests: privacy@thescripturecompanion.com.
